Hello, and welcome to my program, where children continue their education afterschool

My name is Jewel White, I have taught elementary children for over 25 years, I hold a Master Degree in Early Childhood. I believe all children can learn, I also believe that not every child will learn at the same pace as other children, however If the instructor implement the lessons using different strategies, hands-on lessons, encouraging tutorial I do believe that every child will be successful by the end of the year

What Prekindergarten students need to know?

I have created a short list of some readiness items students should know before Kindergarten

• recognize and name basic shapes: square, circle, triangle, and rectangle

• recognize and name numbers 1-10, even when they are out of order

• count to 20

• count 10 objects, pointing to each one as she counts

• say or sing the alphabet

• recognize the letters of the alphabet, both uppercase and lowercase (even out of order)

• identify colors in an 8-ct crayon pack

• recognize her first name

• write her first name

• sort items by size, color, or shape

• hold a book and turn pages

• tell if two words rhyme

• identify some letter sounds

• identify parts of a book

• response to a simple question and give a four word response (example My dog is black).

• count words in a sentence

• left to right progression

• identify where to start reading

• touch a word, touch a letter

• say her parents’ full names and phone numbers (at least one)

Our first class will start on January 3, 2022 this is a tester class, we are bringing in children to see how our program will fit their needs, you are welcome to visit or purchase the class now for under $4 until February 1. Our Grand Opening of all our classes is January 26, 2022.
